multiplayer demo now on steam, i will check it out later and report back my findings

Might have improved since we played it. Mind you we played on the PS3.

Thought I'd have a bash on PC see if its any better than the mediocre consoile offerings, started at 1030, by the time I had done all the updates to my PC, and set off the download, I managed 5 mins then the batteries died on the xbox controller

So I'm giving up, I'll fire up my PC next year perhaps, thats the sort of frequency it gets turned on at

Something to be said for rechargeable controllers, with the wii and 360 I've managed to do a 20 pack of AAs in 3 months (well almost, a couple did go in the remote) I actually have a stack of rechargeable AAs but they are never charged when you need them

Tried this tonight, there were moments where it felt like the old one, tense, particularly playing a Marine but actually its still not that good.

while not brilliant i found there was a lot to like but its the single player mode that im intrested in

Sure the core FPS was fine but playing as the Marine you feel horribly outclassed, playing as the Alien the transitions around the environment, like going up walls etc. were a bit ropey and should have been automatic, didn't really feel that satisfying as an Alien, arms looked dodgy as did kill actions. The maps I have played were very generic feeling too, I mean they should be able to go to town on some of the alien shit but its all flat.

Still its a beta lots of things can still be fixed.

i pretty much found myself getting my arse kicked by people playing as the Predator, as a marine theres not much you can do to beat them unless you have plenty of grenades to fire off

well i bought it and have to say its much better than i thought it was going to be, so far i have only completed the marine level and my progress has been slowed down due to playing the multiplayer, the co op survival mode is pretty good for a quick blast but im into infestation mode at the mo, everyone starts as a marine apart from one who will be an alien and as the marines get killed they respawn as a alien untill the last man standing
